On January 16, eighteen school leaders from Lebanese private schools as well as IC became participants in the ERC’s newest workshop module, Effective School Leadership Skills, facilitated by Mrs. Ghada Maalouf and Mr. Nizar Muhtar. The three session module focuses on the roles, responsibilities and skills of an educational leader, the school as a community of learners and the various ways people think, learn and work. All is designed to help participants learn different approaches to develop schools as learning communities.
In this first workshop, participants looked at the communication process and barriers to communication. They also began a reflection journal as they explored different leadership styles and reflected on their own style. “The workshop gave me the time to stop, reflect and evaluate my own leadership methods so I could stretch and start the journey again with a better, broader perspective,” commented one participant.
Participants are looking forward to the next workshop in this module which will take place on February 6 and the third on March 6.
