On Saturday, January 30, 166 participants from Lebanese private and public schools attended our first Outreach Workshops for this year. The Outreach program is sponsored and organized by the Educational Resources Center. The twelve workshops presented on Saturday offered topics covering IT, psychology and guidance, chemistry, assessment and evaluation in French, methodology, art and the environment, and aspects of the Arabic language that include practical use of grammar, reading comprehension and analysis. Both participants and presenters found the experience enriching both personally and professionally.
One workshop presented in Arabic is the first of a 3-part module that will be continued in our next Outreach session. Participants in this module are looking at a novel for understanding as well as for pleasure reading and helping students to become lifelong learners. “I always enjoy participating in this event and working with so many different teachers with different perspectives who are joining together to learn and exchange ideas.” commented one presenter.
Our next Outreach session will take place February 13. All who are interested in attending are welcome to contact the ERC to register. The brochure containing the list of workshops being offered can be found on the ERC page of the IC website. We hope to see you there.
