Teachers learn to teach: Team ITIT REPORT

“In 2007-2008, the Information Technology Integration Team [ITIT] started out as a study group. The following year, we progressed to an action group. For the past two years, we have trained over fifty Middle and Secondary School teachers with the view to helping them integrate technology into their daily teaching. After last year’s experience, we realized that the bulk of the accomplishments was in the creation of wikis and blogs. Most of the members were willing participants, and even the “technophobes” were able to overcome their initial reluctance, as is evidenced by their continued use of their blogs.
II. Goals Accomplished The chart below indicates the expansion in the use of teacher blogs over the last three years. [The blogs this year were particularly useful when some classes had to shut down owing to the H1N1 epidemic.]
